We have received reports of a man who died three days prior to Sunday, and has risen! Doctors cannot explain the phenomenon! Many people are referring to it as a miracle, and it is! For on this day, he is risen!
On this day, two thousand years ago, a man named Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins, and rose three days later.
Jesus came to earth as the Son of God, but he was born to a Virgin, Mary, and lived a human life. However, he did not sin once in his three decades on this earth. After being betrayed by one of his disciples, he was beaten almost unrecognizably before being forced to carry his own cross through town, to Galgotha, also known as Calvary. Here he was crucified, like a criminal, alongside two other men who actually were criminals. Jesus’ body was then taken down and buried in a cave. However, this is not where he remained, because three days later, the Son of God rose again.
Why would the Son of God want to come to earth, you may ask? He came for you, and me, and all of us. You see, we are all sinners. We are literally born into sin. It is who we are, but it is not who we have to be!
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the wold, he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Jesus is literally the way, the truth, and the light. No one gets to the Father, except through Jesus.
While we spend the day celebrating with candies and eggs, we must also remember the reason we celebrate. Easter Sunday – also known as Resurrection Sunday – is a symbol that death is not the end.
Go forth and spread the good news! He is risen! Happy Resurrection Day!
