Teenager David Hogg let his misuse of facts get him body checked when the real data is presented. The left-wing activist took a shot at the NRA via Twitter and was called on his made up statement by Stephen Gutowski, a reporter for the Free Beacon. Hogg said that the NRA was attempting to rescue the gun industry from the worst sales year ever. Mr. Gutkowski, an acknowledged expert in that field, responded with a factual tweet. Read on.
As Written and Reported By Ryan Saavedra for the Daily Wire:
Left-wing activist David Hogg received an embarrassing fact check this week after making up a new baseless conspiracy theory, suggesting that the National Rifle Association was manipulating Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.
Hogg spread the conspiracy theory to his 868,000 followers on Thursday, saying that the “NRA is pulling strings to increase gun sales in a record low year.”
So we can’t
-afford textbooks for our children
-regularly fund inner-city schools
-pay our teachers a livable salary
-have free public collegeYet, we can arm teachers sounds like the @NRA is pulling strings to increase gun sales in a record low year. https://t.co/Ca8NbMCpyk

Not only is there zero evidence to support Hogg’s claim, the very premise of his claim — that the NRA is trying to increase “record low” gun sales — is a complete lie.
Stephen Gutowski, a reporter for the Free Beacon who is widely considered to be one of the most knowledgeable reporters on everything related to firearms, fact-checked Hogg’s claim:
There have been about 1 million more FBI background checks, the most reliable indicator of gun sales, this year than last year and this year is on pace to be the second-best in the history of NICS. So, no, gun sales are not experiencing a record low year. https://t.co/3TuvrVnvOu
